rey and Pride: Postcard Project
This project aims to share the experiences of our community's vibrant elders through their own voices and images. We hope to amplify the voices and experiences of older tongzhi individuals within the tongzhi community in Hong Kong.
As the first and only registered charity dedicated to serving the well-being of individuals aged 60 and above within this community, Grey and Pride's mission is clear: to foster a socially inclusive, diverse, and tolerant society where older tongzhi members can thrive free from fear and prejudice.
At the core of this project lies the intention to shed light on the multifaceted stories of older tongzhi individuals through their own words and images. Six poignant themes form the narrative tapestry of these postcards, each encapsulating unique aspects of their lived experiences:

• Religion: Addressing the question, "Did God say 'No' to me?", the postcard poignantly reflects on the rejection faced by individuals whose faith communities closed their doors on them due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.
• Friendship: Highlighting the pain of "Unreasonable isolation," the postcard speaks to the loss of friendships that occurred upon others discovering their sexual orientation or gender identity, underscoring the importance of genuine acceptance and support.
• Same-sex relationship: Capturing the essence of "Hidden romance," the postcard reveals the intricacies of navigating love and intimacy in a world where heteronormativity often obscures the validity of same-sex relationships.
• Bisexuality: Embracing the "Rainbow heart in a rainbow village," the postcard celebrates the complexity of bisexuality and the capacity to love across genders, while also honouring commitments to partners of different genders.
• Mom-son relationship: Sharing the journey of coming "Out" to Mama, the postcard expresses gratitude for maternal love and acceptance, even in the face of societal challenges, and convey heartfelt messages of longing and connection.
• Homophobia: Conveying a resolute desire to combat prejudice, the postcard conveys the fervent wish to eradicate homophobia and create a world where all individuals can live authentically and without fear.
